Rough Sets and Granular Computing (RSGrC)

We invite submissions to the invited session at the
4th International Conference on Intelligent Decision Technologies to be held in Gifu, Japan, 23-25 May, 2012.

Aims and scope

The session should provide researchers from universities, laboratories and industry with an opportunity to present state-of-the-art research results and methodologies in theory and applications of granular computing, including rough sets as special form for granulation. The session will also make it possible for researchers and developers to highlight their new research directions and new interactions with novel computing models.

The session will focus on currently important major research tracks related to granular computations  such as neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary computation, rough sets, e-Intelligence (Web intelligence, semantic Web, Web informatics), bioinformatics, medical informatics, security, and data mining.

 The topics of the proposed session include, but are not limited to:

• Rough Sets : Foundations and applications;
• Granular Computing (GrC) paradigms;
• Rough Granular Computing (RGrC) including Interactive Rough Granular Computing (IRGrC) and Perception Based Computing (PBC);
• Combination of RGrC with other soft computing approaches, in particular with fuzzy sets, neural networks and evolutionary computation;
• Applications, including applications in medicine, in semantic Web search, in multi-criteria decision making and others;
• Scalability issues in granular computations;
• Reasoning schemes based on granularity;

Submission

Submission should be made  using PROSE system provided by the organisers of the IDT conference. The length of papers is 10 pages, format and other details are described on the KES-IDT page:

• Submission of papers: 24 December 2011
• Notification of acceptance: 15 January 2012
• Upload of final publication files: 1 February 2012
